TTYL

Hey all!  So, Kris and I are leaving tomorrow to drive to Portland (roads are horrible) and getting a motel room for the night.  Then, we are going to fly to Colorado for his friends wedding.  Kris is the Best Man.  We are flying back to Portland on the 30th.  Our plane should land around 9:30pm so we might get a room for that night as well.  Not sure yet.

Anywho... I'm excited about flying but nervous about all the people.  I hate being around butt-loads of people I don't know... I'm not a people person and it puts me way out of my comfort zone.  Oh well, I'm a strong woman and I think I will do just fine...

I will take pictures and share some when I get back.  It will be my first time going to Colorado :)  Wish me luck on all and I hope every single one of you have a great Thanksgiving!  Eat lots, stay warm and be safe :)

Giggles

Any one who has ever met my boyfriend knows that he's a smartass.  Well, let me be honest... He's a HUGE smartass!  But, I still love him for it.  He's always picking on me and giving me a hard time when it comes to things I don't know.  (I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed)  If he didn't pick on me, I'd think he didn't love me anymore, lol.

Here are a few examples ~

Nov. 22nd ~ We were watching a show (Chuck, I think) and someone got kidnapped...

Me ~  Honey, would you save me and go after the jerk who kidnapped me?
Him ~  Hell no!  I'd send them a Thank You note!  (giggle, laugh, snort, wipe tears away, laugh)
Me ~  *Flip him the bird*
Him ~  Baby, you know I love you but sometimes you just dig a hole and leave yourself wide open!

Same day ~ This time, we were watching Wheel of Fortune...

Me ~  (After puzzle was solved)  I didn't know there was a river in the Grand Canyon...
Him ~  Are you serious?!?  How do you think the Grand Canyon was formed?  Good God, woman!  (laugh, snort, giggle)
Me ~  I've never been there!  *Flip the bird again this time with a few choice words*

He's my everything!  Some would probably think it's mental abuse and mean of him.  But, it honestly isn't, lol.  Like I said, he's a HUGE smartass and we both have fitting personalities!  Plus, I feel it takes a strong woman to put up with him, lol!

But, he's not so sharp himself.  Here are a few examples of this...

Nov. 19th ~  We were playing cards with one of my uncles and Kris was having a chew (he spits in paper cups).  Well, he went to spit in the cup but he didn't grab the cup.  His hand formed a cup shape to his mouth!  He spit all over his hand!  My Uncle and I were in tears!

Nov. 20th ~  Kris made breakfast and wanted some hot sauce for his scrambled eggs.  He grabbed the sauce out of the fridge and shook the bottle.  The lid wasn't fully closed.  Hot sauce went all over in the kitchen... All over him and in his hair!!  Funniest thing I've ever seen!  I almost peed myself I was laughing so hard!!

I guess we were made for each other!  :)  We always keep each other laughing at the stupid things we say or do.  We've been together a little over 3 years now and I've loved every moment of it :)

Yesterday...

I had a great day yesterday for my birthday/turkey day.  Kris and I went to my mothers house for dinner and games with the family.

The turkey was yummy and the stuffing and yams were the best!  Mmm... I love me some yams... *drools*... Instead of having pie, we had cake.  A yummy vanilla cake with way too many candles, lol.  My mom always amazes me with big dinners like that... Spend alllll daaaay loooong cooking just for people to sit and scarf (literally) food for 15-20 minutes.  Me?  I don't have the patience to slave away on a great, big dinner just to enjoy for a short time.  I would much rather slave on T.V. Dinners in the oven, lol.  Gotta give props to my mom!  :)

Games were fun... We played Pinochle and I lost :)  (I always seem to anymore)  After the game, there was a bit of drama between two people about health care issues... But, other then the drama, I had an awesome birthday!  I do wish my father would have been able to make it.  Hopefully he will feel better soon and we can meet up sometime...

My mother gave me candles... Black-cherry!  My favorite!  My boyfriend bought me an amazing diner at Diego's about a month ago.  My uncle and his girlfriend got me some lottery scratch-its and I won $20.00 on those and my mothers landlord (and friend for years) gave me some cash.  I keep telling people to not get me anything but they never listen.  I'm too old to be receiving gifts for a b-day.  Although, I did buy myself a cute, warm winter coat this morning!  :)  I love it!

Well, time to get my butt in gear and finish cleaning house and doing laundry so I can relax this evening.  Desperate Housewives is on tonight so I'm pretty excited about that :)  Later all!

If it's not one thing... It's another...

The seal or gasket (or whatever it is) behind the water pump in Kris's (my boyfriend) truck is no good and now water is leaking everywhere!  Once again, I will do my best to be his Mechanic Nurse and help him out.  My job is to hand him tools or whatever he needs for the job.  For some reason, I don't think he trusts me to remove bolts or anything 'cause I'm a girl, lol.

The timing of this whole thing couldn't be worse.  We are supposed to be saving money to go to Colorado for his best friends wedding.  We leave to drive to Portland on Turkey Day to catch our plane.  May have to take a bus to Portland if anything else decides to go wrong with his truck.  We already have our plane tickets purchased (obviously) but now we are going to be short on cash while there.  Fun.  We fly back home on the 30th... That's a long time with no money, lol.  But, we will make the best of it and still have a blast while there :)

On to something else... My family, Kris and I are going to have Saturday as our Turkey Day since Kris and I will be gone on the real Turkey Day.  Saturday is also my birthday so we are getting two birds with one stone... Much easier that way!  We should just pick one day out of the year and celebrate EVERY holiday, lol.  That would be a huge money saver!  4th of July, Easter, St. Patty's Day, Christmas, Halloween, Birthdays and whatever other holiday I didn't say... All rolled into one!  Sweetness :)  Well, maybe on New Years Eve...

Anywho, I should get going.  He's in the shower now and he will be ready to start mechanicin' once he's done.  Have a great day all!  :)

Freezing...

I'm so cold.  I hate being cold.  I'm miserable when I'm cold.  True story.  Come back summer... I miss you and your hotness!  And, my tan is gone... Guess I could do the whole fake~n~bake thing.  Get a tan and warm up at the same time :)

That's all.  Have a great evening all :)

Wood II

So, we all went wood cutting again yesterday.  Total chaos!  We got to our area and one of our people had fallen a tree already (he was ahead of us).  Well, we started cutting the tree and loading the trailer with the wood we had when a man in green pants comes sneaking up on us.  Forest Service man!!  His truck was nowhere to be seen... When he walked up to us he said he was just out 'wandering around' and heard us so he decided to stop and chat... (I wonder how many times he saw us girls go tinkle in the woods since he was lurking around)

Long story short, he gave us a ticket for the tree that was cut down.  It was way over the 22 inch round rule for falling trees.  I guess 36 inches does NOT equal 22 inches, lol.  $175.00 ticket... Geez!  But, in our defense, the bark on this tree was about 5-6 inches thick.  Anywho, he let us finish that tree.  After we finished, we had to drive to another spot because apparently, people aren't even allowed to cut dead trees that others have cut down and left.  Our spot was a wood cutting zone, just all the trees there were not allowed to be cut down.

So, we moved down the road.  We ended up finding a great spot with lots of trees to be cut down that were unmarked and thinner then 22 inches :)  We were happy!  We went back to cutting, loading and stacking again.  Once we finished for the day, we headed to the trucks to take off and go home.  Well, we ended up having to pull start the truck that belongs to the other people that went with us.  They hooked up the chain and mom's friend started to tow them in hopes that their truck would start.

Mom's friend says to truck ~ Come on... Suck that fuel up!
Truck ~ Sputter, spat, choke, sputter... Vroom!!
Mom's friend says to truck ~ Atta girl!  There she goes!!

Hmm...  But, it was yet another eventful day of cutting wood!  :)

Wood

I went out today and helped my mother and friends get some wood for the winter.  'Old Red' was loaded to the max!  Whew... what a workout...

I am beat now.  Some of them logs were pretty big.  The two guys cut the wood, I loaded it in the truck and my mother stacked it in the truck.  Great teamwork!  Now, I'm ready for a shower, dinner and maybe a beer!

It's been quite fun for the amount of hard work it is, lol.  I love it because I'm out in the woods enjoying every sound.  It's peaceful to me :)  We are all going to go back out tomorrow and do it all again!

Single Ladies ~ Versions from YouTube

Oh my!  I tell ya... These two guys are extremely umm... Too many words to list, lol.  Great job guys!  I had tears running down my cheeks from laughing so hard, lmao!  I love stumbling upon great YouTube videos!  Found HERE

And another 'make you cry from laughing so much' video!  Brave souls! Found HERE

What a Morning

My morning hasn't exactly gone so good.

First of all, I forgot to get my coffee ready last night before bed.  So, I had to do it this morning at 5 am (when I was still half asleep).  Apparently, I put too much water in my maker because when I went to get me a cup, my pot was plum full with coffee and there was coffee overflow all over my counter.

Secondly, it seems like every time I pick something up, I drop it... The remote control, my cell phone, a pen... Although, I haven't dropped my coffee cup!  *Knock on wood*  I must have butterfingers this morning or my hands are just too cold to grasp anything (my brain as well).

I sure hope the rest of my day goes better without anymore of my 'special moments'.  No matter how hard I try, I can't escape my spacey, klutzy self...  Anywho, I sure hope everyone else is having a better morning :)

What am I?

I am a woman, a housekeeper, an accountant, a dog groomer, a laundry service, an organizer, a landscaper, a cook, a dish washer, a coffee house, a phone book, a mechanic's assistant, a seasonal warehouse worker, a shoe finder, a back scratcher, a masseuse, a craigslist seller all rolled into one being.  I am Super-Shannon!  Just a typical day in the life of most women, lol.  Seriously though, women do it all!  Sorry guys... (Some of you do a lot too!)

Silly Peaches

I love me some canned peaches as a snack so I usually buy a couple cans every now and then.  I went into Safeway and did my shopping... Got home and went to put everything away and then I noticed something... FALSE ADVERTISEMENT on my peaches!  How dare them!

I guess it's a good thing we have a can opener, lol.  But seriously?  That is a cruel joke for someone that buys those cans for the simple purpose of them being 'Pull Top Lid'...  I will definitely be double checking my cans before purchase next time.  Tsk, tsk...

20 Things

I was thinking I would do a ~20 things about me for my 20th post~ post :)

1.  I am terrified of spiders... Any kind, any size.  I'm a complete girly-girl when it comes to spiders... I run away screaming like a baby, lol.  The only good spider is a dead spider!

2.  I have broke 3 bones in my 26 years.  In order ~ My left collar bone as a toddler when my cousin fell on me (I still love you Lacie!).  My right collar bone while playing football (tripped over my own feet trying to impress a boy) at age 11 (I think).  Last, my left wrist by bouncing off another cousins trampoline at 13 or 14 years old (Yes, I still love you too, Amber!).

3.  I was home-schooled  (which may explain my grammar/english writing skills, lol).  However, I did graduate and I received my High School Diploma with the home-schooling :)

4.  I like to write (obviously!) about anything.  Poems, short stories, letters to friends and family...

5.  I have a stupid fear of driving that controls my freedom!  I get panic attacks behind the wheel.  Makes me feel like a royal dumbass!

6.  I'm a firm believer in "Eye for an Eye" when it comes to prison inmates but that is a whole different blog post.  I have a lot to say about that...

7.  I hate having nail polish on my fingers but feel naked when my toes are without nail polish.  Is that weird?

8.  I can pop my hips in and out of joint while standing.  It sure grosses people out to see that, lol.  My hips were dislocated when I was born (my mother had to double up the diapers to keep my hips in socket if that makes any sense)...

9.  I was in an abusive relationship for 3 years.  I hate the guy for how he was but I'm thankful to him for making me stronger and wiser.

10.  I'm addicted to coffee but I don't like Starbucks or Dutch Brothers.  I prefer my local Full Throttle Java Hut (located at both ends of town for your convenience)  :)  Plus, the girls there rock!

11.  I once got really drunk and did amateur night at a strip club.  I will NEVER drink that much EVER again, lol.  I was also offered a job by the club manager... I drunkenly, yet politely, declined, lol.

12.  I'm extremely shy in person but will tell my life story online (go figure).

13.  I went through a depressed stage in life and tried to end it.  I'm so over that now though and I love, love, love my life the way it is.  Yeah, things could be better but I'll take it for what it is :)  I have family, friends and a boyfriend who all love me and accept me for who I am and I love them all for that and their support :)

14.  I absolutely HATE cooking but I do it anyways for my boyfriend because he loves when I cook for him (probably because he's taught me how to cook... My mother tried but I never listened because SHE always cooked) and his appreciation makes me feel good.

15.  I've never met my real father but here recently, he contacted me through FaceBook.  I'm glad he did and I want to know everything about him and meet him someday.  I have so many questions for him... I feel... Well, I don't know how I feel yet.  Only time will tell...

16.  I don't plan on ever getting married.  I would wear an engagement ring but never get married, lol.  I would stay engaged forever.  I don't believe in having a piece of paper to prove how much I love someone.  Besides, it's much cheaper to get rid of a boyfriend then it is to get rid of a husband, lol.  No divorce :)  Just take your shit and go!

17.  I don't plan on ever having kids either.  Don't get me wrong, I love kids I just don't want any of my own.  Yeah, yeah... They're cute and squishy and do adorable things but... I'll pass.  But, if I ever did end up pregnant, I would love my baby more then anything else in life :)

18.  I sang karaoke once with a friend at a bar that was full of people.  That was another drunk moment of mine.  It was horrible, lol.  We sang, or butchered would be correct, 'Rockstar' by Nickelback :)

19.  I love nuts by themselves... Salted, honey roasted, whatever but I hate foods that have nuts cooked in it or topped with nuts.  Candy bars with nuts in them?  I don't like them... Yuck!

20.  I hate getting flowers as a gift (especially from a boyfriend).  It may be a nice gesture and all but get me something that is going to last... Not something that is going to die soon...

Triple Topic?

First, it rained... Then, it snowed... Now, it's just fricken cold!  Come out sun... I miss you.

Coffee
I've been drinking coffee all day trying to warm up.  My coffee is NOT doing it's job.  I am STILL frozen.  But I don't really mind all that much 'cause I'm a coffeeholic.  :)  Well, I do mind a little I guess... I hate being cold!  I just can't make up my mind... So cold, confused and complicated lol.

Winter
I think we are going to have a long, cold and wet winter.  I am overwhelmed with joy. *eye roll* Maybe I should take up a winter sport.  I think I can handle snowboarding down the bunny slope.  I've never tried skiing or snowboarding.  I've heard it's a blast and it takes technique to master, lol.  I'm a huge klutz and would probably brake a leg... Even on the bunny slope.

Summer
I did have a great summer though!  It was WAY too short but still loads of fun.  My boyfriend and I went to Montana for two weeks to his parents cabin on the lake.  That was a blast!  My boyfriend is from Montana and goes back to "the lake" every summer for the 4th of July.  I went with him this year and I want to go back next year.  It was so peaceful yet exciting at the same time.  He caught a 10lb. walleye and it's going to go on our wall.  Just waiting for the taxidermy guy to finish it (sometime within the next month or so).  I caught a big walleye for me... Maybe 2-3lbs, lol.  But, it was my first walleye ever caught! I was so excited :)  Montana was the highlight of our summer... Next year, I will catch a bigger walleye then his wall hanger!  :)

Goals

I have a lot of goals and dreams in life.  Most people do, I'm sure.  And since I'm no Paris Hilton who had everything handed to her on a silver platter, I have to accomplish my goals and earn my living on my own.  This post, I will be talking about some of my goals and dreams and possible ways I can achieve them...

Goal 1 ~ To be an Interior Designer.

  • Does one need a College Degree to be an Interior Designer?  I wouldn't think so.  I would think you would only need an eye for detail, a good imagination, a good sense of furniture arrangement and a good sense of what colors compliment each other.  Hmm... I will have to look into information on that.

Goal 2 ~  To stage houses that are up for sale (if Interior Design doesn't work out for me).

  • Staging a house, or decorating, would be an awesome job.  I read that you DON'T need a degree or schooling for that.  (So maybe you don't for Interior Design as well?)  I would have to research rates and get connections with Realtors.  Sounds simple :)  I guess you can see that I like to decorate :)

Goal 3 ~  To become less Shy.

  • I hate the fact that I'm this shy person who stumbles on her words when talking to new people.  I need to be more confident and not feel like a babbling idiot, lol.  You should hear me in job interviews... Goodness, I'm a mess, lol.  But, I think that's a lot of what's holding me back from things... Stupid shyness!

Goal 4 ~  To win the Lottery or Publishers Clearing House!

  • This one actually is a dream of mine.  I keep sending in those silly PCH contest things and still have nothing to show for it.  But, if I continue entering my name then maybe, some year, I might win :)  (I always try to be an optimistic person.)  I don't play the lottery very often because my luck on those seems to SUCK.

Goal 5 ~  Make and Sell my art/crafts.

  • I love making things and one day, I'd like to try to sell some of them.  I don't have a favorite craft hobby... I like it all.  I like to make jewelry, take pictures, paint pictures, make scarves, make birdhouses, do abstract art... The list keeps going... Maybe, when I get enough to try to sell, I will look into the Etsy site and sign up to sell :)

Well, I have more goals and dreams but this is enough for now.  Have a fantabulous day all!

U-Joints and Grease Monkeys

Yesterday, my whole morning consisted of helping my boyfriend replace u-joints... Well, we only got one done (passenger side).  I like working out in the garage with him and being his Mechanic Nurse, lol.  He calls out tools like a Mechanic Surgeon and I get them for him.  I ask him a question about what he's doing and he laughs at me for asking a stupid question.  "Damn girlfriend, askin' dumb questions!"  He then laughs at my stupidity.  But, it's all it good fun.  He enjoys my company :)  He tells me so!  Got dirty and greasy but that's better then getting all dressed up for me, lol.

We did the drivers side U-Joint this morning.  Another fun-filled morning of silly questions.  Although, I was the 'bright' one when it came to working smarter and not harder.  So, I had to give him lots of hell for that and laugh at him in return!  "Yeah, yeah... laugh it up, smartass"  he says!  "Did you just call me smart?"  I ask with a huge grin, lol.  I love that man!  :)

Then, about 30 minutes ago, my mother dropped off one of my Uncles to help.  They both decided to laugh at my Grease Monkey attire.  "Halloween was almost 2 weeks ago"  My mother tells me as she's looking at the greasy clothes and the black marks on my face. Thanks for pointing out the obvious.  But now, Uncle Austin is going to take my place as Mechanic Nurse and I will stay in the house and do some cleaning.

Later all!  :)

Coffee and Cleaning...

Monday - Thursday is the same routine for me.  I get up at 5 am.  and press start on my coffee pot (I always get my coffee pot ready to go the night before).  I then let the dogs outside to do their business while I have a cancer stick (bad, I know).  Afterwards, the dogs and I go back inside and I get me a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee and add a small spoon-full of sugar and 2 ice cubes (don't want to burn my tongue).  After my first sip of coffee, I then get my mans lunch ready (he would be completely lost without me).  On cold mornings, I will start his truck (he loves me more for that, lol).  He then leaves for work around 5:45 am. and I do my usual FaceBook apps.  Mafia Wars, FarmVille and FrontierVille.  Damn things!  I should just get rid of them.  I hate the fact that I'm worried about my crops going to waste!  Pathetic I tell ya... After FB, I start my normal day of cleaning :)

I love the fact that I keep our house clean.  It's a great feeling to see my efforts shine :)  Years ago, I worked as a Maid and I HATED to come home and do chores for mom.  Who wanted to clean all day at work and then clean more at home?  I know I sure didn't!  But now that I'm not a maid and I have a house of my own (well, with my boyfriend) I love my house to be spotless.  So much that I always double mop my hardwood floors, lol... Once with the Swiffer wet jet mop and once with my Bona hardwood mop.  Since double mopping, I've noticed that a Swiffer is not all that great.  It seems to just smear the dirt around, lol.  If I don't get a better first mop then I'll start doing a triple mop!

Remember as a kid how you would always get excited to get the new coolest toy?  Well, now that I'm grown up, I get excited about new cleaning products, lol.  Now, that right there  is sad :)

A few months ago, we had a knock on the door and it was a Kirby salesman.  He asked if he could vacuum our floors to show us a demonstration.  We have hardwood floors so we told him he could vacuum our couches.  So, he did.  I'm super impressed with the Kirby (but not the price) and I would like one of them... or a Rainbow.  They both do wonders.  We got the salesman to clean our couches, the carpet in our room and he even vacuumed our bed.  It was nice to have a man clean like that for a change, lol.  I told my boyfriend to take notes :)  He didn't.

Back to the coffee topic.  I love, love, love coffee!  Some days, I'll drink two whole pots... Some would say I'm a coffee hog.  It doesn't really give me energy, it just keeps my eyes open, lol.  I like those coffee huts on corners in town or in parking lots.  They are my favorite places to get coffee.  I'm not a big fan of Dutch Brothers or Starbucks.  My all-time favorite coffee hut is the Full Throttle Java.  The girls there are awesome and very friendly.  They make the best blended full throttle (I always get that one and no it's not a full throttle energy drink blended up).  It's the best coffee drink so far for me.  It comes with 5 shots of espresso in a 24 oz. but I always get an extra shot just for good measure, lol.

Well all... I think I've blogged enough for now.  I'm not getting my house spotless by sitting on my tush :)  Have a great day!

Angry, Lost or Confused?

I'm having a hard time figuring out which one of those emotions I'm feeling right now.  I applied for a job yesterday and they already replied back with a "Sorry, you do not meet our requirements".  Hmm... Yet, when I applied, it said that a High School Diploma was a requirement... I have that.  And I would have had to take a training course as well.  I would have paid for the course myself!  I'm so fed up with rejection (not just with jobs but with everything).  I am a great person and I deserve great things...

I feel like I'm stuck in this deep rut and I can't climb out.  People just keep walking by, kicking dirt in my face, never asking if I need help getting out or giving me a chance to show my worth...

Sorry all, I've got a stress headache and don't feel like writing anymore right now.  Later...

Eyebrow Threading?

Found this on YouTube... Pretty interesting.  I've never heard of it before but I decided to try it.  Wow, my eyes watered so bad, lol.  But, I was quite impressed by how great it works!  This will definitely be my eyebrow routine from now on... Much quicker :)  Thanks to the people that share their way of doing things with the world.  I love YouTube!

If I had...

One Million Dollars *grin*

Ever think about what you would do if you had one million dollars?  How would you spend it?  Would you save it?  I would do both!

First off, I would pay off my bills and be debt free.  That's one thing I think most would do.  It would be a huge relief to not have debt hanging on my shoulders anymore... It sure does get pretty heavy after a while.

Then, I would think long and hard about where I wanted to live... Somewhere in the hills with beautiful ponderosa pines for sure.  I would like to buy some land in those trees with my own private pond and have a 4 bedroom house built.  I would stock my pond with bass and fish any time I wanted to and my house would be... A pretty blue with white trim maybe?  Or green with white trim?  Decisions, decisions... I would have a huge kitchen with stainless steel appliances and a spacious living room.  The master bedroom would be big as well with a walk-in closet and the master bathroom would have an old style claw-foot tub.  Oh!  And hardwood floors through-out my whole house... Bedrooms too!

I would then buy me a top of the line camera and get into photography like I've always wanted to do.  Possibly open up my own photography business and hope people like my work well enough to buy pictures.

After all that, I would put the rest into the bank and let it draw interest.  Assuming I would still have any left, lol.

Beyoncé - If I Were A Boy

Great video and awesome lyrics... Why settle for a "boy" when real men with respect are out there.  I found a real man and I love him very much :)
